We provide employment programs like Wisconsin Works and FoodShare Employment and Training, funded by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and other grants from the state.
If you would like to pursue further education for a new job, many of our programs offer tuition assistance, connections to local technical colleges, or free training courses.
Then, we figure out what type of job you are interested in and work together to create a plan to help you get there.
We cheer you on each step of the way.
Education and Training
Get into high-paying careers with education and training that’ll help you develop skills for the workforce.
For young people, we have programs to prepare you for college in Upward Bound and Jobs for America’s Graduates – Wisconsin. They help you graduate from high school and plan for your future with additional training and education on the way to that great career.
Our Workforce Innovation and Opportunity programs connect you with training and education at local technical colleges and universities, as well as specialized training like Commercial Driver’s License courses or other short-term classes.
Then we’ll help you put this education to work with help finding a job.
Supportive Services
Most of our programs provide money for key support services like transportation, housing, utilities, and other needs.
We also have specialized programs like WETAP for transportation, Job Access Loan for things like uniforms, and Emergency Assistance for help with housing, evictions, and utility shut-off notices.
These services help you handle emergency situations while you get ready for a quality career.
A Network of Partners
Our partnerships are an essential part of your support team. Together we tackle your challenges and together we celebrate your success.
Our ability to help clients relies on our relationships with local partners, who provide services or supports that we can’t. This creates the best possible team working for you.
- Partnerships with colleges and universities connect you to additional education and training for new careers.
- Partnerships with employers directly connect you to job openings and career opportunities.
- Partnerships with local organizations connects you with essential resources in your area.
Our Impact Code
We are dedicated to serving our community through these principles:
- We will embrace every day as a new day
Every day is a new beginning, a new set of challenges, and an opportunity to re-invent ourselves. - We will be just
Everyone has value. Everyone deserves a chance at independence, so everyone will have a clean slate. We will treat everyone equally and fairly. - We will be students
Every experience will make us wiser and better at what we do. We will continually be engaged in learning and use that knowledge to move forward. - We will reside only in the present and future
The world does not stand still, nor will we. We will not resist change—we will be exhilarated by it. The value of the past lies only in what it has taught us. Our greatest treasure is our potential. We are nourished by thinking about what can be done. - We will be innovative
Our participants can make us better if we let them, but we must first understand them. We can find a solution or create one, but if our solution does not make our participants’ lives better, it will not make us better.
- We will never stop questioning
Nothing can be sacred except for our mission. To be challenged is not to be criticized—it is to be invited into the process of innovation. - We will be truthful
We cannot succeed without the trust of our participants and society. - We will be for everyone
To be our participant, people need only the will to be independent. Though we welcome everyone, we will have the courage to accept that not everyone will hear the call, and we will remain true to our mission. - We will be pioneers
We have competitors, not enemies. We are not here to destroy or conquer, we are here to create. We come offering a choice. - We will never be finished
Every participant will have their own hunger for independence and challenges in achieving it. We will be there for them as new then as we are today.
