Ashley came to the FoodShare Employment & Training (FSET) program feeling discouraged and unsure if she was capable of becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. As a motivated and empathetic mother of three, she carried big dreams, but she needed support, training opportunities, and a reminder of her own strength.
FSET helped connect her to CNA training through a referral to the Career EXCELerate program offered by Goodwill, Rawhide, and Fox Valley Tech. With reliable support, including scrubs and gas vouchers, Ashley had what she needed to take her next step.
Her dream was simple and powerful: to obtain her CNA license.
Her motto was even stronger: “Always do your best and never give up.”
And she lived by it.
Ashley not only completed her CNA license, she secured employment as a CNA. With each step, she felt herself changing: gaining confidence, rediscovering her happiness, and finding real value in her work.
Now, Ashley has a new goal. Inspired by her progress and fueled by the belief that she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to, she plans to return to school to become an LPN.
Her journey is a reminder that with support, determination, and an open mind, incredible growth is possible one dream at a time.
