Brianna’s journey is one of resilience, transformation, and hope. Living in Waupaca County, she found herself stuck in a cycle that seemed impossible to break. She had dedicated herself to caring for her grandmother, but in doing so, she lost sight of her own needs and future. With no car, no income, and no clear path forward, she felt trapped, uncertain of how to move ahead.
She knew she needed to find work—something that would provide stability in the form of food, shelter, transportation, and clothing. But more than that, she needed a sense of purpose. That’s when she discovered the FoodShare Employment and Training (FSET) program, a decision that would change her life.
A New Path with FSET
“I couldn’t have done it without the support of FSET. It gave me the tools to get where I wanted to be. My caseworker opened up a whole world of resources to help me, and I found support from a person who understands and helps meet my needs,” Brianna shares.
With guidance from her caseworker, Brianna explored different opportunities that aligned with her interests. She participated in online training, gaining new skills and the confidence to pursue a career path she would enjoy. Through work experience, she found a part-time position at the Waupaca Humane Society, a role that quickly became more than just a job—it became her passion.
Overcoming Barriers and Thriving
Brianna’s transformation was evident. She went from feeling lost and alone to thriving in a career she loves. Her self-worth grew as she overcame barriers, realizing that success isn’t just about reaching a destination but about embracing the journey.
Her dedication and hard work didn’t go unnoticed. She transitioned from a volunteer role into a paid position, and now she has set her sights on something even bigger—one day becoming a manager so she can help more animals in need.
