I'm glad I got some assistance with my finances.

Read how Audrey, in her own words, found her path, and now aims to achieve her personal and professional goals.
My grandma helped me get started with the process of going back to college. I previously mentioned I wanted to do something in office work such as a reception as an option to do as a career or something like that. So she gave me Jennifer Marks’ contact info which led me to get to know Jua, the Expert of WIOA. I also needed financial assistance with paying for school.
I wanted to find a career path that best suited me. The first thing was trying to find a place I can go and volunteer at to get some experience in Human Services, my college program. Jua brought up opportunities at the local shelter and immediately I was like, “Yes!” Assistance was needed to pay for college, so I’m glad I got some assistance with my finances, as well as some support to find different job options that would be a good fit for me.
I was in need of help and concerned about getting all my finances taken care of, such as for school. Also, trying to find more people to support and acknowledge my learning needs and my diagnosis, so that I can be successful in college, volunteering, and work.
I’ve always wanted to help people, and I wanted to pursue a field of study to help further that dream. I eventually want to own a home of my own someday, get a high-wage job that I enjoy, be financially stable, get married, and start a family.
Goals that I set to achieve my dreams are go to tech school to study Human Services and pursue a career in helping people. Whether it be as a social worker, therapist, or counselor, at the end of the day, I want to know that I have made a positive impact on people’s lives. That is the main reason why I want to do what I want to do. I’ve also applied to work at my local grocery store for a different working environment.
I enrolled in the Human Services program at technical college to pursue my dream of being either a social worker, counselor, or therapist.
