When Emily asked Bret if she could write a story about his most recent success, he laughed, asking “Am I a success?” But we think you’ll agree that Bret has what it takes to make his dreams come true.
Bret enrolled into the FoodShare Employment and Training (FSET) program, a third party program funded in partnership with the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, when his former employer drastically cut his hours. He wanted a full-time auto detailing position, and he told us, “I knew that FSET is there to help me.”
It didn’t take long for Bret to prove that. With job-searching help from his FSET team, he quickly landed a full-time position with his local Ford dealer.
By staying with FSET, Bret got help with his daily commute, new work sneakers, and continued career guidance. He wanted to make the most of the FSET program and never hesitated to ask for help improving his circumstances.
Bret also wanted to ensure others got the most out of the program. He often accompanied friends to the FSET office for employment assistance and is always willing to help others in need.
Today, Bret is working with his employer to open a car detailing service. He wants his passion to inspire others and is looking forward to the future.
Both your passion and your compassion make you a true success, Bret. Congratulations!
Please share this story to help others learn more about how the FSET program can help them, too.
