Sean Dedicates Himself to Success

Sean | FSET Story Spotlight

“I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for the programs that I participate in and all the help along the way from dedicated employees there to serve.”

Sean is a recent FoodShare Employment and Training (FSET) program participant who has worked through unemployment and experiencing homelessness to obtaining full-time employment and housing.

When he first came to our Sheboygan office, he let us know that with no personal resources, he needed help with transportation, work clothes, and employment services. Hard worker that he is, he was determined to get his life back in order.

The FSET program provided him with bus vouchers to get to and from his job search activities where he received help updating his resume, and was able to apply for jobs online using one of our computer centers. To help prepare him for inevitable job interviews, FSET also provided him with vouchers for new work clothes.

With an updated resume, Sean applied for jobs he found interesting and the interviews began rolling in. Within three weeks, he was offered and accepted a job. But that’s not all.

Sean also co-enrolled in WETAP to help purchase a vehicle to get to and from work. This helped with the car title and license plate registration.

He is a happy man, more determined and confident in getting his life back in order better than it was before.

“I came across the FSET program and joined. I worked the program and along the way my case worker, Chasong. He gave me valuable information. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for the programs that I participate in and all the help along the way from dedicated employees there to serve. So thank you so much to all those dedicated employees who seem to care so much about the lives of others.”
