It barely takes a minute to see what drives Melinda to do more. It was “my daughter’s unconditional love that brought me to W-2,” she recalls, adding that “her love can move mountains.”
Given what Melinda has accomplished while working with us, we’re believers.
She knew that education and skills were the key to reaching her dreams of owning a house and funding her retirement. She also understood all too well how not having a high school diploma held her back.
She quickly enrolled in an HSED prep class, as well as our Call Center Professionals course. With supreme dedication, Melinda finished both – earning her HSED and the completion certificate for Professionals.
She met with Ashleigh, her case manager, to determine next steps. Melinda wanted to continue her education and put her new call center skills to work to earn some money. She began taking interviews with contact centers and exploring her options at the local technical college.
After careful consideration, Melinda took a part-time job in a call center while also enrolling in a degree program at the technical college. This allows her to take of the present and plan for the future.
Through it all, she has one unwavering quest: to make her daughter proud.
We’re sure that this young lady will quickly realize what a great mom she has and beam with pride.
