When Ray came to FSET in April, his dream was to get back to truck driving. He had been out of work for a few years due to some health and legal reasons. He knew he wanted to get back to driving, but he wasn’t sure what steps he needed to take to get there. He enrolled in FSET, he was able to meet with a job developer who let him know about his opportunities and broke down what he needed to do to get there.
The first step was to get his FEDMED card reinstated so that he could drive a truck again. Ray worked with case manager Kayla to complete the supportive application to get his physical and card renewed. We were also able to help connect Ray with partner agencies to make sure all of his needs were met.
Once Ray passed physical and received his new FEDMED, he started full time employment in June with Kruepke trucking working 70 hours per week making $22.00 per hour.
Ray was so appreciative and excited to have this opportunity and the doors were opened to his dreams!
