Someday soon, you might be driving down the road and spy Michael in a field, tending to the animals on his hobby farm. Through his hard work and the support of the FoodShare Employment Training program, Michael has taken the first toward his dream.
He joined FSET looking for a new career that wouldn’t be as physically demanding as his previous jobs. He knew that he needed new skills to make this happen and he worked with his FSET team to do just that.
Michael gained new skills and worked with a job developer and case manager to find the best position for him. He proved himself methodical and committed to his job search – you could always count on him at our office to submit applications, coordinate with staff, and keeping his motivation.
It finally came together for Michael when he landed a driving job with a local hotel. It fit his physical needs, his desire to work with people, and start saving toward his hobby farm.
