When Ursula came to FSET, she was looking for a little help finding a job. What she gained from her experience was so much more. She found support, confidence, and independence.
Ursula had been having a hard time making ends meet, and wanted to start a career in logistics. Her case manager suggested she take our Logistics Professionals Job skills training. Ursula was very excited about the opportunity to learn more about the field, but she was worried that she did not have access to a computer or internet. Luckily the FSET program has laptop rentals and hot spots available to assist participants, making it possible for her to take the class.
Throughout the course, Ursula learned inventory control practices, safe material handling processes, logistics quality control principles, product processing/storage, dispatch, routing, and tracking operations. Ursula was nervous about attending a class since it had been over a decade since she had been to school. However, her instructor made her feel capable and confident the whole way through.
After graduating the course, Ursula worked with her case manager and job developer to build her resume, practice for interviews, and go through the application process. Before long Ursula landed her dream job at NorthStar Logistics.
